When the Fall 2012 Anime season came to a close, I decided to pick up this anime, based on the Anime's opening song I was like "hey, this looks really cute, I should give it a shot." So without further ado, I give you Tonari no Kabutsu-kun (My Little Monster)!

Tonari takes place in the usual setting for most animes, Japan. But who cares about that? The basic storyline is that there is love in the air~ anyways; the main character Shizuku is a seemingly emotionless girl who is robotic in a way. Shizuku is the top of her class and is known as a "studybug". One day, Shizuku is approached by a delinquent named Haru; Haru is the exact opposite of Shizuku and in a way, he helps Shizuku open up throughout the course of this 13 episode anime.
Pacing in Tonari at first seemed...very fast but it was alright in the end. Right away Haru confessed his love for Shizuku even though they only have known each other for....days now. When that happened, it seemed to catch Shizuku off-guard because Haru seemed to see that Shizuku was unhappy and just wanted to make her the happy, pretty girl that she is.

Soundtrack in Tonari was alright, it wasn't really epic or anything. It was just your basic soundtrack and the music certainly fit the mood of happiness and love in a high school environment. The animation was also nice and clean, the coloring in it didn't look messy either.
CONCLUSION
Simple story, not at all complex. Did Tonari make me happier when watching it? Yes. There were also moments where I went "AWW~! SO ADORABLE!" But if you are looking for an anime epic, stay AWAY from this anime at all costs!
